The Human Relations & Minority Affairs Office ensures College compliance with the following federal and state laws:

  • Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended
  • Executive Order 11246, as amended
  • Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972
  • Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964
  • South Carolina Human Affairs Law
  • Age Discrimination Act of 1975, as amended
  • Sections 503 and 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973
  • Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 as ammended

These laws protect individuals from discrimination on the basis of protected classes. The College has developed Policies for equitable treatment to ensure compliance with these laws. Individuals who believe they have been subjected to illegal discrimination are encouraged to contact the Human Relations & Minority Affairs office for assistance in resolving the problem.
