The office was established at the College of Charleston to ensure equal opportunity for all members of our college community. Since its inception, the Office of Human Relations and Minority Affairs has sought to eliminate discrimination and harassment, has overseen the College's policies and investigation process for faculty, staff, and students.
In order to establish equal opportunity for all persons, the Office of Human Relations and Minority Affairs ensures immediate response to complaints of discrimination based on age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, genetic information, national origin, pregnancy, race/color, retaliation, religion, sex, sexual harassment, veteran status and uniform services by students, employees, and/or applicants for employment and admission.
